What is ‘Full-scribe’?
Using massive logs of the highest quality, the Full-scribe method of log construction involves skillfully transferring the contours of a bottom log, along its length, to that of the log above; Once these scribe lines are carefully drawn, the excess wood between the lines is expertly removed by craftsmen using a chainsaw, then finished by sanding to the scribe lines. When the logs are placed at their resting positions in the log wall, the result is an extremely tight fit. Over time, as the log walls settle (arrive at their moisture equilibrium), these joints between logs further tighten to a point where they almost appear to have grown together in the forest.
The Full-scribe method of log construction, demanding hundreds of hours of precision craftsmanship, is the only means to ensure not only a weather-tight structure, but an awe-inspiring log home displaying the beauty of its logs in their full, naturally irregular glory.
Add to this top-class finishing materials, modern interior design, and a touch of your own taste and flair, and you have the highest quality traditional log home .. redefined and reinvented.
